Cookie Policy

In plain terms

  • One cookie remembers your choice, and browser storage keeps you signed in to the dashboard.
  • Analytics and advertising cookies (Google, Meta, TikTok) load only on marketing pages, only if you allow them.
  • Nothing optional ever loads in the dashboard or the documentation.

1.What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar tools, such as pixels, local storage and session storage, work the same way, and this policy covers them too. Some are needed for the site to work. Others are optional, and we only set them if you agree.

2.The three categories

  • Strictly necessary. Sign-in and remembering your cookie choice. Always on, because the site can't work without them. They are never used for advertising.
  • Analytics. Count visits and show which marketing pages are useful. Off until you allow them.
  • Advertising. Measure which ads on Google, Meta and TikTok lead to visits and sign-ups. Off until you allow them.
Analytics and advertising tags load only on our marketing pages. They never load in the dashboard, the documentation or password pages, and they never see the text you send us, your rewrites or your scores.

4.Analytics and advertising cookies

These are set only on marketing pages and only after you allow the category. Lifetimes are as each provider publishes them, are approximate, and may change.

Each provider uses this data under its own privacy policy. See how Google, Meta and TikTok use it.

5.Changing your choice

When you first visit a marketing page, a banner asks whether to allow analytics and advertising cookies. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the site works the same either way. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” in the site footer, or here:

Your choice is stored in iv_consent for 6 months, then we ask again.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of advertising cookies. You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings; blocking site storage will stop sign-in from working.

“Marketing pages” means the home page and pages under /pricing, /api, /rewrite, /detect, /research, /guides, /writing-guide, /about, /contact, /status, /legal, /signup and /login.
